Annapurna Circuit Trek
The Annapurna Circuit is a famous 12-to-18-day teahouse trek in Nepal that loops around the Annapurna Massif over a distance of 160 to 230 kilometers. The route starts in green, subtropical valleys and climbs into high-altitude alpine terrain before crossing Thorong La Pass—the highest point of the trek at 5,416 meters—and dropping down into the dry, high-desert landscape of Mustang. It is rated as moderate to challenging due to the altitude, making proper acclimatization essential. The best months to go are autumn (October to November) for clear mountain views and spring (March to May) for warm weather and blooming trails. Trekkers are required to carry an ACAP permit, a TIMS card, and hire a licensed guide.
